Do you have GEDCOM questions?
The term
GEDCOM is an acronym for Genealogical Data COMmunication. A
GEDCOM file is the method used to transfer your genealogical data from one genealogy program to another. A
GEDCOM file is created by your current genealogy program. A
GEDCOM can only be read by other programs that have the
GEDCOM import capability. Go to your current program's Help listing to learn how to create a
GEDCOM in that program.
Family Pursuit allows you to upload your
GEDCOM file and merge it to the
Free Community Tree to discover
distant cousins and extend your pedigree chart. You can also download a
GEDCOM from our
Community Tree for use in other genealogy programs.
