Marriage
John Dugger Surry married Frances on 4 Nov 1771. This is given in Revolutionary War Pension File W 7062 as written by Frances. Unfortunately she didn't give the place of marriage, nor her own maiden name or who performed the marriage, etc.
Children
John and Frances had a large family. The Pension File (W7062) gives some family data but unfortunately doesn't list all the children:
* 2nd child Leonard Dugger born 4 Nov 1773 (much more about his family is included)
* 7th child Flood Dugger born 20 Jan 1788
That leaves several children unproven. Others are placed here based on strong circumstantial evidence:
* Sarah Dugger (c1772) married Charles Edwards in 1794 Orange Co., NC when John was living there.
* Luke Dugger (c1780) married and lived in Sumner Co., TN near John and Frances.
* Dread Dugger (c1781) married and lived in Sumner Co., TN near John and Frances. Later moved to Gallatin Co., IL.
* Anna Dugger (c1785) living with Leonard Dugger in 1850. Assumed to be his sister.
* James Dugger (c1787) married and lived in Sumner Co., TN near John and Frances. Later moved to Madison Co., IL where many of Leonard's offspring went.
* Frances Dugger. Not sure what evidence there is for her. I believe she appears on court records in Sumner Co., TN.
The two proven children, and six unproven make for 8 children. Flood was listed as the 8th child and that works out based on the list above and the approximate birth dates.
